For many of us, regular visits to the Sri Guruvayurappan Temple at Kerala have been an integral part of our growing up, of bonding with friends and of celebrating festivals. Seeking Sri Guruvayurappan’s blessings in happiness and in sorrow, whether it be a birth in the family, a marriage or the loss of a dear one is ingrained in our individual values, ethos, beliefs and culture.
The plan for a Sri Guruvayurappan Temple was initially envisaged by the London Hindu Aikyavedi, a registered charity in the UK, under the leadership of Late Sri Thekkummuri Haridas. The grand vision is currently being taken forward under the guidance of Guru Brahmarishi Mohanji.
In addition, the thantri or chief priest of the proposed temple is Brahmasri Puzhakkara Chennas Dinesan Namboothiripad, the present thantri of Sri Guruvayurappan Temple at Kerala, India and the vaastu acharyan (chief architect) is Brahmasri Kanippayyur Krishnan Namboothiripad (Achan Thirumeni) of Kerala, India. The temple project is being implemented under the guidance and support of spiritual gurus who are also part of the temple advisory board.
The project includes a grand temple alongside a Heritage Ayurvedic Wellness Centre, Gurukulam - School of Vedic & Yogic studies, School of Arts for classical performing arts & music and auditorium.
Having identified multiple potential locations for the temple in and around London, we now have the opportunity to create such a place. Like all great temples in India and elsewhere, bringing this task to fruition will completely depend on active participation and financial support from all of us, hence this appeal. On behalf of the community, we request your vital engagement and generous support in realising this dream project.
